It’s a golden double for “Big Bird” at CPT EU Regional Open and Regional Finals, EGX 2019

Adel “Big Bird” Anouche was in the spotlight again, winning back-to-back titles at EGX 2019. Billed as the UK’s biggest gaming tradeshow and a magnet for gaming enthusiasts from all over the world, London was the venue for a stunning show of Street Fighter V talent at EGX 2019 and a pair of standout performances by Big Bird.

Big Bird’s domination was complete with a weekend of wins in the Street Fighter V tournament. Big Bird not only won the EU Regional Open tournament and the EU Regional Finals, but also took home winnings of US$ 14,000 and a spot at the Capcom Cup.

Putting up one of this best performances of the year in winning EGX 2019, Big Bird only lost three sets throughout the tournament which featured the top Street Fighter V talent from Europe. EGX 2019 was the last Capcom Pro Tour Premier of the year for Europe.

Big Bird handed out a 3-1 defeat to Arman “Phenom” Hanjani at the EU Regional Open tournament, coming in to the grand final in red hot form. The win earned Big Bird US$ 7,000 and 700 Capcom Pro Tour points, and sixth place on the global leaderboard.

Big Bird, though, was not done yet. The day after the Regional Final, he was back to his best in a grand final defeat of the British home favorite, DC “Infexious” Coleman, by a 3-1 margin. The Regional Final featured a tough field comprising the top eight players from the regional leaderboard.
